Recently, we visited several schools with the topic of "lighting methods and students' myopia", and observed that there were many problems in classroom lighting, such as:  1. Classroom lighting did not refer to the national standard to configure lamps. The quality of installation and maintenance is not ideal. 2. The distribution of lamps and lanterns in classrooms (especially kindergartens) is unreasonable, resulting in poor uniformity of illumination on the desktop of the same classroom (the illumination difference between South and North classrooms is even greater). 3. The brightness of classrooms in the newly-built school is too high. However, after the aging of the classroom light tubes in the old school, the brightness decreased seriously, but it could not be replaced in time. 4. In the classroom facing south, the sun shines directly on the students' desktops during the day, seriously affecting the visual environment of the classroom, and so on. As we all know, the decline of students' eyesight and the rise of myopia rate are the result of the combined action of many factors. However, in addition to the primary factors, eye fatigue is the main factor causing myopia. Under normal eye use conditions, whether the lighting conditions are reasonable or not directly affects the fatigue degree of eyes. Because myopia is a gradual process of the heart as the host, it is difficult to get exact results from a short period of statistics. However, from the observation and statistics of students who have appeared myopia and are now outside the original report in 2002, they have deepened at a rate of - 100 degrees per year, which is a general formula. The above-mentioned phenomena of lighting in some schools are representative in each school. How to improve and optimize the lighting conditions of the classroom is the content of this article. The following points are expressed in the form of suggestions:  1. Now in the classroom, most of the lamps used for desk lighting are single and double tube ordinary bracket fluorescent lamps, which are installed perpendicular to the blackboard. Because the lamp tubes are exposed, there is still a strong direct glare to the students in the back row. It is suggested that ordinary classrooms should use bracket lights with grids as the main lighting as far as possible, or in the existing classroom, the first two to three rows of bracket lights close to the blackboard should be replaced with bracket lights with grids, which can significantly improve the visual effect of students in the back row. 2. Referring to the "school illumination standard", the illumination of classroom class desktop should be 150ix (European standard 300~500 IX). At present, some schools may pursue brightness, or the design is unreasonable (illumination up to 800~1000 IX). The effect is that students' books and desks form a strong reflective glare, so that students reflect that their eyes are tired, and the school pays more electricity, and finally has to remove half of the light tubes. The problem of high brightness is also reflected in the "sunshine" classroom in the south. Generally speaking, the illumination of sunlight on the desktop can reach more than thousands of IX. under this high illumination, students cannot see the teacher's blackboard writing on the blackboard, causing serious visual fatigue. In order to prevent the sun from shining directly on the desktop, curtains must be installed in the South classroom of the school. It is suggested that the school can be equipped with a portable illuminometer (about 300 yuan) to check the illumination status of the classroom. In order to analyze the uniformity of indoor illumination, at the same time, we can also understand the light attenuation phenomenon caused by the long-term use of the lamp tube, so as to replace the lamp tube in time. 3. The lighting fixtures of general classrooms in schools should use three primary color fluorescent lamps, which can not only be about 20% brighter than ordinary fluorescent lamps, but also have a color rendering index of 80%. Students' visual fatigue will be improved. (it is reported that schools in Taiwan Province have been required to fully use three primary color fluorescent lamps). In school functional classrooms, such as art classrooms, kindergarten activity rooms, painting rooms, exhibition rooms and other occasions, high color rendering fluorescent lamps RA 90~97 can be installed. The spectrum of this lamp is similar to that of sunlight, and the illuminated objects are very bright and lifelike. Under this light, the fatigue of human eyes will also be significantly reduced. 4. In the audio-visual classroom of the school, as well as the classroom that needs to use projectors, slide projectors and televisions, dark curtains should be used to block the sunlight from entering the room, so as to create an environment with low illumination. Only when the contrast between the images displayed in the classroom and the background is appropriate, can we get a comfortable state of vision. Conditional schools should install dimmable fluorescent lamps. This kind of lamp is internally equipped with adjustable optoelectronic ballast and supporting control device, and the brightness adjustable range is generally 10% - 100% (continuous dimming), or 15%, 35%, 100% (three-stage dimming). In this way, teachers can control the brightness of lights by hand-held remote control according to teaching needs. Practical cases have proved that the lighting effect of this kind of classroom is satisfactory, which is also the way that lighting is gradually promoted in the project internationally. 5. It is suggested that the competent education departments at all levels should be responsible for issuing guiding requirements and forming myopia prevention and control teams in designated schools. Experts from the medical, educational and lighting sectors form a professional group. Theoretically, carry out discussion, scientifically determine the research topic, and carry out effective statistics and analysis, so as to draw phased conclusions. In this way, opinions can be expressed from different fields, concepts can be unified, and research conclusions can be shared. This also avoids some too commercial propaganda, misleading the public.
